Deprecated and removed features
Occasionally, features in a new version replace those in a previous version, and sometimes features that are no longer needed are removed from the new version. In both cases, it is important to take note of what to do when you upgrade to the new version.
Features that are marked as deprecated may be removed in a future release but are still supported and included in the current release.

| IBM® Content Search Services |
You can upgrade to IBM FileNet® P8 V5.7.0 without migrating to a new solution for content based retrieval. IBM Content Search Services remains supported, but no new development is planned for this component. Investment is shifting towards solutions such as Elasticsearch and OpenSearch, and you are encouraged to begin planning migration to one of these supported alternatives. For guidance, refer to the documentation on Dual mode indexing for content based retrieval. |

OLM-based deployments remain supported in this release, but Helm charts provide better flexibility, portability across Kubernetes distributions, and simplified installation workflows.
