Installing the extension files

Install IBM Bob Premium Package for Z by first installing IBM Bob IDE, and then installing the extensions.

Installing IBM Bob

IBM® Bob Premium Package for Z requires IBM Bob IDE version 2.0.0 or later.

If you need to download your software from IBM Passport Advantage, follow the instructions at https://www.ibm.com/software/passportadvantage/.

Downloading IBM Bob Premium Package for Z

After installing IBM Bob, perform the following steps to install the IBM Bob Premium Package for Z extension:

Downloading IBM Bob Premium Package for Z from OpenVSX Registry

IBM Bob Premium Package for Z is installed automatically into IBM Bob if you are entitled to the extension and have access to the Open VSX Registry.

If you need to download your software manually from OpenVSX, search the marketplace for ibm.bob-z-extension.

Downloading IBM Bob Premium Package for Z from IBM Passport Advantage

If you need to download your software from IBM Passport Advantage, follow the instructions at https://www.ibm.com/software/passportadvantage/.

Extensions included in IBM Bob Premium Package for Z

Along with the VSIX for IBM Bob Premium Package for Z, the installation package contains VSIX files for the following extensions:

Installing IBM Bob Premium Package for Z

Perform the following steps to install the extensions:

Extract the contents of the ibm.bob-z-extension zip file.
Open IBM Bob and navigate to the Extension panel.
Use the overflow menu (…) on the Extensions tab to select the Install from VSIX... option. Browse and select the vscode-extension-for-zowe VSIX file.
Alternately, drag and drop the VSIX file into the Extensions tab.
You will receive a notification to restart the extension after the installation is complete.
Similarly, install the zopeneditor extension using the VSIX file. Restart the extension when prompted.
Now install the bob-z-extension VSIX file. Restart the extension when prompted.

Note: IBM watsonx Code Assistant™ for Z extensions are not supported in IBM Bob. If any IBM watsonx Code Assistant for Z extensions are detected, then a notification appears and IBM Bob Premium Package for Z extension will not be activated.
