Release notes - January 2023
As IBM Support Insights continues to evolve, here are the details of the application's current progress.
Fixed issues and upgrades
Following is a list of improvements and new implementations in the application.
INS sunset and SI expansion
- The Intelligent Networking Support (INS) application has been sunset. Some of its functionalities are now incorporated in IBM Support Insights (SI) and others are currently in development.
- The INS link remains in the left-hand side navigation menu of SI but now leads to the designated migration documentation, providing users with easy access to helpful information on the sunset of INS and transition to SI.
- An entirely new functionality is now available for Cisco users - a re-designed Changes tab, previously known as Delta in INS. The new Changes view is applied to Cisco clients by default.
- The new Cisco-only view of the Changes tab includes Inventory changes and Coverage changes views, allowing users to better track and monitor their assets' historical differences.
- The new view includes additional filters and columns that can be applied and viewed in the assets table on the page. These allow users to modify their view in accordance with the data sub-set most relevant to them at the time.
- In the new Cisco-only view of the Changes tab users can opt to view historical differences for their Hardware chassis, Hardware components or Other assets via a dropdown available on the left-hand side of the tab. By default, all three options are selected, thus showing users changes including all their devices.
Pro client functionalities
- The Hardware lifecycle risk view of SI's Risks and recommendations page is now available as part of the application's Pro offering.
- The summary table in the
Hardware lifecycle risk
page now has an incorporated
Select allbutton in its header. By default, all product families are selected, but users can now deselect them and only choose to view the ones they are wish to focus on. - The Premium case metrics view of SI's Case metrics page is now available as part of the application's Pro offering.
General improvements
- The application's login has been upgraded - now working with IBM Cloud App ID. This allows for a more secure process. The change includes a pop-up screen where users are to input their login credentials, as well as a loading indicator on the main application screen.
- The
Export services for allbutton has been removed from the view on the Changes tab, as its contents are identical to when exporting the services using the Inventory tab. - The bar chart on the non-Cisco view of the Changes tab has been updated and now has slightly wider bars adding to an improved user interface.
- The coverage status previously known as Stopped, Canceled or Deleted has now been updated to Stopped or Canceled .
