Configuring the Content Assistant to use your watsonx.ai account

You can configure a Content Platform Engine object store to use the Content Assistant along with your own watsonx.ai account.

About this task

For each object store where you want to use the Content Assistant service with your own watsonx.ai account, update the Content Assistant configuration object with the watsonx.ai space ID and API key.

Procedure

  1. Log on to the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine (ACCE) as an object store administrator.
  2. In the Administration Console for Content Platform Engine (ACCE), access the Gen AI Configuration object for the object store where you want to use the Content Assistant.
    Tip: Starting with Content Platform Engine 26.0, you can open the Gen AI Configuration object for the selected object store directly from Administrative > Content Assistant > Gen AI Configuration.
    1. Go to the object store where you want to use the Content Assistant.
    2. In the left pane, click Search.
    3. Click New Object Store Search.
    4. In Simple View, specify the Class as Gen AI Configuration, and click Run.
      The search results display a single object.
  3. For the selected object, enter the watsonx.ai deployment space ID in the Gen AI Space field.
  4. For the selected object, enter the Gen AI LLM API Key.
    1. Within the Gen AI LLM API Key property input field, click the drop down list icon and select Change Password.
    2. Enter the API key in the New Password field.
      You need to enter the watsonx.ai API key that you generated for your Content Assistant service ID on IBM Cloud. For more information, see the topic Creating an API key for the Content Assistant service ID.
    3. Reenter the API key in the Confirm New Password field and click OK.
  5. For the selected object, enter the Gen AI Embedding Model API Key.
    1. Within the Gen AI Embedding Model API Key property input field, click the drop down list icon and select Change Password.
    2. Enter the API key in the New Password field.
      You need to enter the watsonx.ai API key that you generated for your Content Assistant service ID on IBM Cloud. For more information, see the topic Creating an API key for the Content Assistant service ID.
    3. Reenter the API key in the Confirm New Password field and click OK.
  6. Click Save.
  7. Repeat the steps for each object store where you want to use the Content Assistant with your watsonx.ai account.
