Determining the installation procedure
Choose either the default or nondefault installation procedure to install the compiler.
- Default installation
- Installs IBM® Open XL Fortran for Linux® on Power®
17.1.1 to the default
directory, /opt/ibm.
This procedure is highly recommended. Follow the procedure provided in Default installation.
- Nondefault installation
- Installs IBM Open XL Fortran for Linux on Power
17.1.1 to a directory
other than the default.Use the Nondefault installation procedure if any of the following scenarios apply:
- You want to install IBM Open XL Fortran for Linux on Power to a nondefault location.
- You want to try out a new update of the compiler before removing an existing installation from the default location.
- You want to maintain multiple versions of IBM Open XL Fortran for Linux on Power or IBM XL Fortran for Linux in separate locations on the same system, and to allow each version to use the runtime environment that was shipped with it.
