Sterling eInvoicing for Italy
The einvoicing process in Italy requires the Supplier or Buyer to perform certain required government registrations prior to on-boarding with Sterling eInvoicing.
Sterling eInvoicing supports the following einvoicing flows in Italy:
- Signing
- Signing and Archiving
- Archiving
B2B einvoicing process
The following steps describe the B2B einvoicing process for Italy:
- The Supplier delivers the data to Sterling eInvoicing using a commonly agreed and secure channel.
- Sterling eInvoicing connects to TrustWeaver-Signing to request issuance of the
FatturaPA in an asynchronous process. Sterling eInvoicing polls TrustWeaver-Signing in
a separate process to receive updates. TrustWeaver-Signing acts as the intermediary on behalf of the
Buyer as a recipient to receive the metadata file from the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) and as the
transmitter on behalf of the Supplier to receive notifications from the SdI.
The delivery notice is available in the signing stage of the einvoicing process. If the Generate Printable Invoice is set to
yes, a human-readable PDF is available in the einvoicing signing flow. - Sterling eInvoicing archives the issued Supplier’s FatturaPA and delivery notice on behalf of the Supplier and Buyer. Sterling eInvoicing supports integrating with TrustWeaver-Archiving to archive the FatturaPA in accordance with Italian legislation.
- After the FatturaPA has been signed and archived, TrustWeaver sends the document to SdI and SdI
forwards it to the Buyer. In case of a three-corner model, TrustWeaver sends the signed document to
the Buyer and TrustWeaver or SdI will send the delivery notice to the Supplier.
An additional flag
ExtraInfo1is shown in InFlight to indicate the delivery to Buyer. Based on this flag, you can search for DELIVERY FAILED and DELIVERY SUCCESSFUL fields in InFlight.
B2G einvoicing process
The following steps describe the B2G einvoicing process for Italy:
- The Supplier delivers the data to Sterling eInvoicing using a commonly agreed and secure channel.
- Sterling eInvoicing connects to TrustWeaver-Signing to request issuance of the FatturaPA in an asynchronous process. Sterling eInvoicing polls TrustWeaver-Signing in a separate process to receive updates. TrustWeaver-Signing acts as the intermediary on behalf of the Buyer as a recipient to receive the metadata file from the Sistema di Interscambio (SdI) and as the transmitter on behalf of the Supplier to receive notifications from the SdI. The delivery notice is available in the signing stage of the einvoicing process. If the Generate Printable Invoice is set to yes, a human-readable PDF is available in the einvoicing signing flow.
- After the FatturaPA has been signed, TrustWeaver sends the document to SdI and SdI forwards it to the Buyer.
- The following list describes B2G Buyer Responses to SdI:
- SdI forwards invoice to the Buyer successfully:
- The Buyer, a government body, can accept. In InFlight, the document status is Green. The ExtraInfo1 flag status is B2G OUTCOME NOTICE ACCEPTED.
- The Buyer, a government body, can reject an invoice. In InFlight, the document status is Red. The ExtraInfo1 flag status is B2G OUTCOME NOTICE REJECTED.
- If a Buyer does not send the Acknowledgment to SdI (Acceptance/Rejection notice) within 15 days of receiving the invoice, then SdI sends a Deadline passed notice to Sterling eInvoicing. In InFlight, the document status is Green. The ExtraInfo1 flag status is B2G DEADLINE PASSED NOTICE.
- If SdI fails to forward the invoice to buyer on the first attempt, it retries to send the invoice for 10 days. After 10 days, SdI sends the Proof of Failed delivery attestation to Sterling eInvoicing. In InFlight, the document status is Green. The ExtraInfo1 flag status is B2G FAILED DELIVERY ATTESTATION.
- SdI forwards invoice to the Buyer successfully:
- Sterling eInvoicing archives the issued Supplier’s FatturaPA and delivery notice on behalf of the Supplier and Buyer. Sterling eInvoicing supports integrating with TrustWeaver-Archiving to archive the FatturaPA in accordance with Italian legislation.
