User interface roles and permissions

Each role enables access to different permissions in the Configuration Hub user interface to do specific operations. Permissions for each role are fixed and cannot be changed. Subrole permissions to maps and code lists can be changed by the company administrator (admin). An administrator can grant or remove user access to maps and code lists in Configuration Hub by assigning resource access through B2Bi SaaS Hub.

Update map and code list metadata

Update the description and type for code lists, and update the description for maps.

Company user (user): Cannot update metadata. Only users granted resource access to maps can update map metadata.
Company administrator (admin): Can update metadata for code lists and maps for their own company only if the status is not Work in progress.

View map and code list details

View the details for a map or code list.

Company user (user): Can view the details for all maps and code lists for their own company. Only users granted resource access to maps can view map details.
Company administrator (admin): Can view the details for all maps and code lists for their own company.

Lock map or code list

Can lock a map or code list to prevent anyone from changing it.

Company user (user): Can lock maps and code lists for their own company, if the item is not already locked. Only users granted resource access to maps can lock maps.
Company administrator (admin): Can lock maps and code lists for their own company, if the item is not already locked.

Check out map or code list

User can check out a map or code list so the user can upload changes to it.

Company user (user): Can check out maps and code lists for their own company, if the item is not already checked out. Only users granted resource access to maps can check out maps.
Company administrator (admin): Can check out maps and code lists for their own company, if the item is not already checked out.

Upload new version of map or code list

Upload a new version of a map or code list.

Company user (user): Can upload a new version of a map or code list for their own company, if they checked out the item. Only users granted resource access to maps can upload a new version of a map.
Company administrator (admin): Can upload a new version of a map or code list for their own company, if they checked out the item.

Deploy a map or code list to CTE

Deploy a map or code list to CTE.

Company user (user): Can deploy a map or code list for their own company to CTE, if they checked out the item. Only users granted resource access to maps can deploy a map to CTE.
Company administrator (admin): Can deploy a map or code list for their own company to CTE, if they checked out the item.

Deploy a map or code list to production

Deploy a map or code list to production.

Company user (user): Can deploy a map or code list for their own company to production, if they checked out the item. Only users granted resource access to maps can deploy a map to production.
Company administrator (admin): Can deploy a map or code list for their own company to production, if they checked out the item.

Submit a map or code list for production deployment

Submit a map or code list to IBM® Services for production deployment, if necessary.

Company user (user): Can submit a map or code list for their own company to IBM Services for production deployment, if they checked out the item. Only users granted resource access to maps can submit a map for production deployment.
Company administrator (admin): Can submit a map or code list for their own company to IBM Services for production deployment, if they checked out the item.

Submit map for production readiness review

Submit a map to IBM Services for a production readiness review (if a review is needed).

Company user (user): Can submit a map for their own company for a production readiness review, if they checked out the item. Only users granted resource access to maps can submit a map for a production readiness review.
Company administrator (admin): Can submit a map for their own company for a production readiness review, if they checked out the item.

Approve or reject a map after a production readiness review

Approve or reject a map that was submitted for a production readiness review.

Company user (user): Cannot approve or reject a production readiness review.
Company administrator (admin): Cannot approve or reject a production readiness review.

Unlock map or code list

Can unlock a locked map or code list.

Company user (user): Can unlock maps and code lists (for their company) that they locked. Only users granted resource access to maps can unlock their locked maps.
Company administrator (admin): Can unlock maps and code lists (for their company) that either they or another user in their company locked.

Undo check out for map or code list

Can undo a check out a map or code list.

Company user (user): Can undo a check-out for a map or code list for their company, only if they checked it out and no deployment is made. Only users granted resource access to maps can undo a check-out for a map that they checked out.
Company administrator (admin): Can undo a check-out for a map or code list for their company, only if they or another user in uploaded a changed version” company checked it out and no deployment is made.

Compare CTE and production code lists

Can compare a currently deployed CTE code list and a currently deployed production code list to understand if they are identical at the time of the comparison.

Company user (user): Can compare code lists for their company.
Company administrator (admin): Can compare code lists for their company.

Transfer check out of map or code list

Can transfer the check out a map or code list to another user after a revised version is uploaded.

Company user (user): Can transfer the check-out for a map or code list for their company, only if they checked it out. Can transfer the item only to another user in their company. Only users granted resource access to maps can transfer checked out maps.
Company administrator (admin): Can transfer the check-out for a map or code list for their company. Can do the transfer only if they or another user at their company checked it out and uploaded a changed version. Can transfer the item only to another user in their company.
