Setting up Maximo Mobile apps

After Maximo® Manage is installed, the mobile apps are ready for use. Depending on your business needs, you can configure certain aspects of the apps.

Bar code format support
Maximo Mobile supports the following formats.
Mobile Configuration app
As a system administrator, use the Mobile Configuration app in Maximo Manage to configure Maximo Mobile.
Push notifications
Push notifications are messages sent from the server to mobile devices when Maximo Mobile applications are being used.
Recording physical signatures
Maximo Mobile applications can be configured to require physical signatures for work orders based on their statuses. For example, before a work order is completed, the Technician application can prompt the user to sign the work order and then change its status to complete. This feature is not enabled by default.
Recording e-signature keys
Use e-signature keys in your web browser or your mobile device to confirm that a status change or attribute value update is complete and valid.
Server-side search
Configure an application to direct queries to the server and limit the number of records that are returned.
Configuring application links
You can configure an application to open from the field of another application. For example, you can open the Inspections application from a field in the Work Order Tracking application.
Enabling photo analysis by IBM Maximo Visual Inspection
To help inspectors detect defects during inspections, you can enable analysis of the photos that the inspector takes during the inspection. The analysis is completed by IBM® Maximo Visual Inspection.
Configuring user location sharing
Configure user location sharing to help efficiently allocate work orders based on a technician's proximity and availability. Location sharing is active while the mobile device is in online ode.
Preventing GPS spoofing in Maximo Mobile
In Maximo Mobile v9.1, you can configure Maximo Mobile to ignore mobile devices and emulators that report false GPS location information.
Downloading images with ImgLib
Starting with Maximo Mobile v9.1, you can download and resize Maximo Mobile images using ImgLib.
Changing the time zone from a mobile device
In Maximo Mobile v9.1, users can set a time zone from their mobile device.
Enabling enhanced delta refresh of transactional data
Starting in Maximo Mobile v9.1, you can deliver more details about child data that is contained in transactional data records during a synchronization of delta information. Newly available data includes work order attachments, work order asset status updates, work order work logs and labor records, and inspection reports.
