Configuring user-triggered transactions
Configure a user-triggered transaction to allow users to initiate processing activities. User-triggered transactions notify users when work is ready and requires user action before processing continues.
About this task
Users initiate user-triggered transactions instead of external systems or scheduled processing. Configure a notification service to alert users when a document reaches the transaction and is ready for user action.
Before you configure a user-triggered transaction, create a transaction or open an existing transaction. For more information, see Creating transactions and Modifying transactions.
Procedure
- Open a transaction.
- On the Trigger sources tab, click User triggered.
- Select the This transaction is triggered by users checkbox.
- In the When ready, notify user using field, click Search.
- Select the service that you want to use for user notification.
- Click Save.
Results
The transaction is configured as a user-triggered transaction. Users receive a notification when a document reaches the transaction and is ready for processing.
What to do next
- Define event conditions to determine how the transaction responds to events during processing. For more information, see Defining event conditions.
- Configure transaction completion criteria to determine when the transaction is complete.
- Associate the transaction with the required process steps.
