Workspace details

As a fulfillment manager, you can view various metrics and key performance indicators that are driven by real-time data on the workspace. The workspace consists of various widgets that display metrics that are related to your node performance and orders data.

Note:
  • After metrics are enabled, the system begins capturing metrics and calculating KPIs. Depending on when the feature was enabled, you might not see a complete set of metrics when you change the time filter to Last 7 days or Last 30 days. For example, a complete set of metrics for Last 7 days is not available until seven days after the metrics feature was enabled.

Also, if you request for IBM to temporarily disable metrics, then metrics are not gathered during the time it is disabled. Therefore, you might see gaps in the data when the metrics feature is reenabled.

  • The metrics are for sales orders by default. To view purchase order metrics, create a workspace that uses purchase orders as the document type, then from the workspace, click Node details or Node metrics.

Order age

This widget displays the age of the orders in days. Orders that are over 7 days old are grouped in the 7+ column.
Assigned to node
Orders that are assigned to a node in the current workspace, but not yet completed (not in Shipped or Canceled status). For an order to be considered Assigned to node, each of its order lines must satisfy one of the following criteria:
  • The order line has at least reached the Scheduled status.
  • The order line has a defined ship node (the ship node can be in any status).
For example,
Two order lines that depict the two criteria
Pending assignment
Orders that are not assigned to any node. An order is considered Pending when any of its order lines is not assigned to a node.
Pending orders are displayed only if the Monitor orders with node assignment pending (all network) checkbox is selected in the workspace options.
Preorders
Open preorders that are placed in advance of the availability date.
Important: To ensure that Order Hub identifies the orders or order lines as preorders, you must mark any one order line as a preorder in IBM® Sterling Business Center. To mark as "preorder", create an extended Boolean entity attribute, BUC_IsPreOrder, from the Object Extensibility screen. For more information about creating extended attributes, see Create an extended boolean entity attribute

When all order lines in an order are marked as a preorder, then the order is considered to be a preorder.

Delivery method

This widget displays the number of shipments that were created for the nodes in the workspace within the time filter. The shipments are further categorized based on the delivery method and node type combination in the form <delivery_type> - <node_type>. For example, Ship - Warehouse or Pickup - Store.
  • You can use the time filter to view metrics based on different periods. The delivery method widget uses the IBM Sterling Order Management System server time zone to determine the period.
    Last day
The last completed calendar day plus the current day. For example, today is 31 March. Last day includes 30 March plus today.
    Last 7 days
The last seven completed days, plus the current day.
    Last 30 days
The last thirty completed days, plus the current day.

Nodes

This widget displays various metrics for the node. Metrics are measured based on the capacity unit of measure that is defined in the tenant settings. Administrators can set the capacity unit of measure to Unit or Release. For more information, see Configuring settings.
  • If the unit of measure is Releases, metrics are calculated in terms of number of releases.
  • If the unit of measure is Units, metrics are calculated in terms of item quantities in the order lines.
  • You can filter the display to view nodes with the Lowest fill rate, Highest fill rate, Lowest utilization, and Highest utilization. By default, four nodes with the lowest fill rate are displayed.
  • You can use the time filter to view metrics based on different periods. The time filter and metrics are based on the node's time zone.
    Today
    The current day.
    Last 7 days
The last 7 completed days, plus the current day.
    Last 30 days
The last 30 completed days, plus the current day.
  • You can click View all to see metrics for all the nodes that are monitored in your workspace. For more information, see Node metrics page.
  • You can click the node name to open the Node details page. For more information about the data displayed in the Node details page, see Node details page.

Fill rate graphs

Lowest fill rate displays the nodes that are the least efficient in fulfilling orders compared to the number of orders that were assigned to the node. Highest fill rate displays the nodes that are the most efficient in fulfilling orders compared to the number of orders that were assigned to the node. Each node widget displays the following information.
Sent
The number of units or releases that were assigned to the node within the specified time filter.
Fulfilled
The number of units or releases in orders that were fulfilled within the specified time filter. By default, fulfilled is where the status is Shipped or higher (status 3700 or higher) or Carried (status 1100.7777). IT developers can customize the statuses that are considered fulfilled. For more information, Customizing statuses that are considered Fulfilled.
Backlog
The number of units or releases that were unfulfilled before the start of the specified time filter.
Pending
The number of units or releases that were unfulfilled at the end of the specified time filter.
Fill rate
The percentage of units or releases that were fulfilled when compared to the total respective quantities that were sent to the node.
Fill rate = Fulfilled within specified time filter ÷ (Backlog + Sent to node).

Utilization rate graphs

Lowest utilization rate displays the nodes with the lowest usage in terms of capacity (the amount of work that the node can complete). Highest utilization rate displays the nodes with the highest usage in terms of capacity. Each node widget displays the following information.
Utilization rate
The percentage of units or releases that were fulfilled when compared to the capacity available for the node.
Utilization rate = Fulfilled within specified time filter ÷ (Capacity within the time filter).
Fulfilled
The number of units or releases in orders that were fulfilled within the specified time filter. By default, fulfilled is where the status is Shipped or higher (status 3700 or higher) or Carried (status 1100.7777). IT developers can customize the statuses that are considered fulfilled. For more information, see Customizing statuses that are considered Fulfilled.
Capacity
The number of units or releases that the node can process during the specified time filter. For example, it is currently 10 AM. The node is open from 8 AM to 6 PM and capacity is 100 releases per day. In the graph header, the capacity shows 100 releases. However, in the graph, the data points display different information.
  • If the time filter is Today, the number that you see is the capacity up to that point in the day. Capacity up to that point in the day is determined based on the capacity slots that are defined for the node.
  • If the time filter is 7 days or 30 days, the daily data is plotted for each day.
Note: If a node is not associated with any resource pools, then a No data available message is displayed. For more information about resource pools, see
