Node details page

The Node details page displays metrics and key performance indicators for a node. Metrics that are displayed on this page are measured based on the capacity unit of measure that is configured for the particular node that you are viewing.

You can get to the Node details page from various places within Order Hub.
  • From a workspace, within the Nodes section, click a node ID. For more information, see Workspace details.
  • From the Node search results page, click a node ID. For more information, see Searching for nodes.
  • For the Node metrics page, click a node ID. For more information, see Node metrics page.
Note:
  • After metrics are enabled, the system begins capturing metrics and calculating KPIs. Depending on when the feature was enabled, you might not see a complete set of metrics when you change the time filter to Last 7 days or Last 30 days. For example, a complete set of metrics for Last 7 days is not available until seven days after the metrics feature was enabled.
  • The metrics are for sales orders of all order types by default. To view purchase order metrics or metrics for a specific order type, create a workspace that uses purchase orders as the document type, then from the workspace, click Node details or Node metrics.

Actions

Within this page you can complete the following actions.
Change capacity
View the capacity that is defined for the node for a date range and modify the standard capacity of the node. For more information, see Changing node capacity.
Reassign pending shipments
Reassign all pending shipments on the node to other available nodes. For more information, see Reassigning pending shipments from the node details page.
Set fulfillment options (for integrations with IBM® Sterling™ Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility only)
Determine the fulfillment options that the node supports. You can enable or disable options for shipping and for pickup. For example, if you disable pickup, orders that require customer pickup are not released to that node. For more information, see Set fulfillment options at the node.

Metrics

Backlog
The number of units or releases that were unfulfilled before the start of the specified time filter.
Sent
The number of units or releases that were assigned to the node within the specified time filter.
Fulfilled
The number of units or releases in orders that were fulfilled within the specified time filter. By default, fulfilled is where the status is Shipped or higher (status 3700 or higher) or Carried (status 1100.7777). IT developers can customize the statuses that are considered fulfilled. For more information, Customizing statuses that are considered Fulfilled.
Pending
The number of units or releases that were unfulfilled at the end of the specified time filter.

Performance

Fill rate
The percentage of units or releases that were fulfilled when compared to the total respective quantities that were sent to the node.
Fill rate = Fulfilled within specified time filter ÷ (Backlog + Sent to node).
Capacity utilization rate
The percentage of units or releases that are fulfilled by the node when compared to the total capacity of the node.
Capacity utilization rate = Fulfilled within specified time filter ÷ (total capacity of the node for the specified time filter).
If a node is not associated with any resource pools, the utilization rate is not displayed. This rate does not display if Fulfillment method=All and the methods use different capacity units of measure. For example, Ship capacity UOM is in units but Pickup capacity UOM is in releases.
Performance line graph
The line graph provides a visual representation with a more granular view by showing intervals. The x-axis intervals change based on the time filter.
  • For the fill rate line, you can use this graph to monitor potential trends such as "which hours of the day have the lowest fill rate today" or "which days of the week have the highest fill rate over the last 30 days".
  • For capacity utilization rate line, if the time filter is Today, the graph displays cumulative data for each hour of the day. You can use this graph to monitor potential trends such as "which hours of the day do we operate at a high or low utilization rate". If the time filter is 7 days or 30 days, the graph displays cumulative data for the day.
If a node is not associated with any resource pools, the utilization rate is not displayed. This line does not display if Fulfillment method=All and the methods use different capacity units of measure. For example, Ship capacity UOM is in units but Pickup capacity UOM is in releases.
  • The lines might help identify fulfillment patterns or nodes that require attention. For example, consider a scenario where during the weekdays, the utilization rate and fill rate are consistently around 100% but on the weekends, the fill rate drops down to 60%. You might want to modify sourcing rules or resources based on the observations. For example, do you need to redirect some orders because the node is taking too many orders? Do you need to add more resources and increase capacity to fulfill more orders on the weekends?

Rate details

Rate details combo graph
Displays a different visualization to understand how your node is performing. The graph provides a comparison of the number of units and releases that were fulfilled compared to the number of units or releases that were pending.
  • The bars represent the combined total of backlog and sent to node.
  • The solid blue dots represent the respective quantities that were fulfilled.
  • The red dots represent the capacity for the day.
The graph might help identify nodes that need business process modifications based on the observations. For example, consider a scenario where the daily capacity is 100 releases, sent to node is 20 releases a day, and the node consistently fulfills all orders. The graph would show that the blue dot (fulfilled) is always at the top of the bars (pending fulfillment), and both never reach the red dot (capacity). This might indicate that the node can handle more and you can update sourcing rules to send more orders to this node.

Shipments

Shipments donut chart
Displays the number of fulfilled shipments and whether the SLA was met or missed. By default, fulfilled includes shipments where the status is Shipped or higher.
  • SLA met: Shipments that were fulfilled on or before the expected ship date.
  • SLA missed: Shipments that were fulfilled after the expected ship date.
  • Pending shipments: Number of shipments that are not shipped or not picked up by the customer.
IT developers can customize the statuses that are considered fulfilled. By default, Fulfilled includes statuses that are Shipped or higher (status 3700 or higher) or Carried (status 1100.7777). For more information, see Customizing statuses that are considered Fulfilled.

Shortages

This widget shows the shortages that are recorded during backroom pick. A shortage occurs when you do not have enough inventory to fulfill the order line quantity.
Shortages donut chart
Displays the number of order lines that were short during backroom pick. The chart also displays the shortage reasons that were selected by the store associates during backroom pick. Store associates can only select from a predefined set of reasons. Administrators can configure the set of reasons in IBM Sterling Store Engagement. For more information, see Adding backroom pick shortage reasons by using the exception-codes API or Adding backroom pick shortage reasons by using Sterling Business Center.
Shipments with shortage indicate the number of shipments with at least one order line that is short.

Node summary

Description of the Node summary fields
Field Descriptions
Status For configurations with Global Inventory Visibility: Indicates whether the node is on or off. When a node is off, Sterling Order Management System does not release any new orders to that node. Use the toggle button to turn the node on or off.

For integrations with IBM Sterling Intelligent Promising Inventory Visibility: Indicates whether the Ship or Pickup fulfillment options are on or off.

Capacity The capacity for today. If available, click a link to change capacity.
Note:
  • If the node is not associated with a resource pool, then Ship, Pickup, and Total all contain a dash (-). For more information, see Resource pools and Service slots.
  • However, if both Ship and Pickup contain a dash (-), but there is a Total value, this display represents a node that uses a shared resource pool and shares capacity.
  • If Ship and Pickup fulfillment methods use different capacity units of measure, values display for Ship and Pickup, but a dash is displayed for the Total.
Node name The node name.
Node ID The node ID.
Node type The type of node.
Address The node's address.
Phone The node's phone number.
Manager The manager of the node.
Time zone The node's time zone.
Metrics included from A list of enterprises. Metrics are included from orders that are created under any of the enterprises that are listed.
