chcompatibilitymode

Use the chcompatibilitymode command to change whether a feature is enabled in compatibility mode.

Syntax

Parameters

-enable
(Optional) Specifies that the feature is enabled.
-disable
(Optional) Specifies that the feature is disabled.
-feature
(Required) Specifies the name of the feature to be enabled or disabled. The features that can be specified are:
multiple_io_groups
Toggle the support for multiple I/O groups on this system. This is only valid for SAN Volume Controller systems on Long Term Support (LTS) releases.
Note: Multiple I/O groups have been replaced by FlashSystem grid as the method to scale out the storage system. IBM® SAN Volume Controller systems continue to support multiple I/O groups on long-term support releases only.

An invocation example

The following command enables the multiple I/O groups feature for IBM SAN Volume Controller only:

svctask chcompatibilitymode -enable -feature multiple_io_groups

The resulting output:
