IBM InfoSphere Streams Version 4.1.1

Instance graph basic features

You can use some of the basic features of the instance graph to focus and examine potential areas of concern.

Filters

If you have many jobs that are running on an instance, use filters to focus on specific jobs. You can filter jobs by job name, job ID, job owner, or job health. To apply a filter to the instance graph, click the Filter icon on the toolbar, and select the filter to apply.

Search

Use the search option to find elements in the instance graph. To search for an element:
  1. In the Instance Graph view, from the toolbar, click the Search icon or press Ctrl+O.
  2. In the search window, start typing in the input area to display all elements that match the search criteria and are in the defined search scope.
When you select an element in the search window, all instances of that element are selected in the graph. The search scope includes annotation, category, composite, export property, input and output port, operator, schema elements, streams, and tags. You can modify the search scope to suit your requirements.
Tip: Use tags to mark elements that you want to quickly find in large graph, and then modify the search scope to use only tags.

Snapshots and recordings

You can take a single snapshot or record a series of snapshots that you can replay later in the Instance Graph view. A snapshot captures the state of the graph at a particular point in time. When you replay the graph in the Instance Graph view, you can apply color schemes. This feature is useful for capturing interesting graph states, which you can then share with other users or use to collect information for troubleshooting.
