Android 8.86 and 8.85 Release Notes

The Android app version 8.86 and 8.85 for IBM® MaaS360® is available on the Google Play Store on 30 January 2025.

Android eSIM management through custom commands

IBM MaaS360 adds eSIM support for Android devices with version 15 and later that enables the IT administrators to remotely deploy or delete eSIM profiles on corporate devices by using custom commands. Upgrade Icons

IBM MaaS360 updates the app logo with subtle changes to the font. For more information, see MaaS360 apps with the new background screen.

Color Palette

The Kiosk launcher now supports automatic font color selection. IBM MaaS360 introduces the Colour Palette API that dynamically selects a font color based on the wallpaper background that provides optimal contrast, visibility, and readability.

Important: The automatic colour selection is applied if App Launcher Font Colour is not configured in Branding. If the Branding is configured through the Master Admin Console, the launcher font colour always displays the specified value.

Updated names of Android apps

IBM MaaS360 updates the names of the following Android apps in the Google Play Store. For more information, see Updated the names of Android apps in version 8.85 in the Google Play Store.

HTTP Protocol is not supported

The HTTP protocol is not supported for all IBM MaaS360 Android apps. For more information, see Supported data transmission protocols for IBM MaaS360 Android apps.
