Starting with the Android Agent version 8.85 (expected at the end of January 2025), IBM MaaS360 Android apps exclusively supports the HTTPS protocol for all data transmissions. This change aligns with the Google’s guidelines that are related to secure data handling and makes sure that all the interactions with the apps continue to be encrypted and protected.

The HTTPS protocol is the only supported and secure way of communication.
Areas impacted:
In Android version 8.90, the HTTP protocol is not supported for all IBM MaaS360 Android apps.
In Android version 8.95, the HTTP protocol support is back only in the SecureBrowser app. The user can now access the HTTP URL using the SecureBrowser app.
