Creating a security policy in the MaaS360 Portal

MaaS360® allows you to create and push security policies to devices in your organization.

Procedure

  1. From the MaaS360 Portal Home page, select Security > Policies.
  2. Click Add Policy.
  3. Provide the following settings for the policy:
    Setting Description
    Name The name of the policy.
    Description The description of the policy.
    Type The type of the policy that you want to create.
    • Select an MDM policy to control device-level features and functions.
    • Select WorkPlace Persona to configure settings in theMaaS360 apps.

    Note: MaaS360 offers both MDM and WorkPlace Persona policies in a mixed (MDM+SPS) mode account.

    Start From The basis for the new policy. You can start from one of the following options:
    • My Existing Policies: MaaS360 copies the policy configurations from existing policies.
    • Community Based Policy: The MaaS360 policy recommendation engine suggests policy settings based on policies configured by similar organizations in the MaaS360 community. For more information, see Creating a community based policy.
    • Business Templates Based Policy: MaaS360 provides a set of pre-defined (canned) templates based on common business use cases. For more information, see Creating a business template based policy.
  4. Click Continue.
    The Policy Details page is displayed.
  5. Click Edit to configure policy settings.
  6. Do one of the following actions:
    • Click Save to save the changes locally.
    • Click Save and Publish to save and deploy the policy to devices.
