Permit to work status values

Permits to work has a status, such as approved or suspended. Permit to work application processes often do different actions on records according to their status values.

Status About this status
REQUEST Requested. Newly created permit to work. You can change a record with a Requested status to Draft status in preparation for review and approval, or to Closed status.
DRAFT Draft. The permit to work is being developed or reviewed before submission for approval. The record is not available to other records and applications. You can change the record. You can delete the record if it is not associated with any work orders. You can change a record with a Draft status to Approved, to Preparation Completed, or to Closed status.
PREPCOMP Preparation Completed. You must set the validity of the permit to work before you change the status from Draft to Preparation Completed. You can change a record with a Preparation Completed status to Approved, Draft, Isolation Completed, Issued, or to Suspended status.
APPR Approved. The permit to work is reviewed and approved. You can add standard actions. You can change a permit to work with an Approved status to Draft, Isolation Completed, Issued, Suspended, or Preparation Completed. You can specify that a permit to work has at least one approver before the status can change to Approved.
ISOLATION INPRG Isolation in Progress. The asset or the location is being isolated or tagged. You can change a permit to work that is in Isolation in Progress status to Isolation Completed status. You can change a permit to work that is in Isolation in Progress status to Isolation Pending Removal status if your administrator configured your organization options to allow this status change.
ISOLATION COMP Isolation Completed. The asset or the location is isolated or tagged. You can change a permit to work with an Isolation Completed status to Approved, Issued, Isolation Pending Removal, Suspended, or Preparation Completed.
ISOPENDREM Isolation Pending Removal. The isolation for the asset or the location is pending removal. You can change a permit to work that is in Isolation Pending Removal status to Isolation Removed.
ISOREMOVED Isolation Removed. The isolation for the asset or the location is removed. You can change a permit to work that is in Isolation Removed status to Canceled status.
ISSUED Issued. The permit to work is issued by the issuing authority. The permit to work must be accepted by the person who is responsible for the task. You can change a record with an Issued status to Active, Approved, Preparation Completed, Suspended, or to Isolation Completed status.
ACTIVE Active. The permit to work is approved and is active. The permit to work is available to other records and applications. You can change a record with an Active status to Suspended or to Canceled status. You can extend the duration of a permit to work that is in Active status.
SUSPEND Suspended. You can suspend an active permit to work. If you suspend a permit to work, you cannot associate it with a work order or another permit to work. You can change a record with a Suspended status to Approved, Issued, Preparation Completed, or to Canceled.
CANCELED Canceled. You can cancel an active permit to work. The permit to work can be reviewed and audited before the record is closed. You can change a record with a Canceled status to Closed status. Your administrator can configure the organization options to allow, or prevent, a status change to Canceled if the Inhibits Removed checkbox is not selected on the Handback and Cancellation tab.
CLOSED Closed. You can close a permit to work that is in Request, Draft, or Canceled status. All isolations that are in place must be removed before you can close a permit to work. You cannot delete the record. Your administrator can configure the organization options to allow, or prevent, a status change to Closed if the Isolation Removal Verified checkbox is not selected on the Handback and Cancellation tab.
