Maintaining people information

You can record and maintain personal information about individuals. You create a person record for any individual who might display on another record. Examples of person records are the supervisor on a labor record or the ship to contact person on a purchasing record.

In the People application, you can do the following activities:
  • Specify the type of technical authority that is held by a person.
  • Specify the level of financial authority that is held by a person.
  • Specify whether a person is an isolation specialist. If the person is an isolation specialist, specify the type of isolation that the person can handle, such as high-voltage electrical isolation.
  • Associate a personal certification with a person.
  • Authorize a person to do the following activities:
    • Approve solutions.
    • Approve root cause failure analysis.
    • Review, approve, and authorize management of change processes.
    • Review and approve permits.
    • Review and approve certifications.
    • Serve as an area authority, an issuing authority, an isolation authority, or a performing authority.
    • Conduct gas tests and record gas test results.
    • Control who can enter confined spaces.
    • Approve audits.
    • Review and approve risk assessments.
    • Do site checks that are associated with permits to work.
    • Approve analyses of the human factors that are identified during investigations.
  • Manage training courses for each person.
  • Specify whether a certificate was awarded, and if a certificate was awarded, specify the date of certification, and for how long it is valid.
  • Specify the certification that is held by the person.
