Job Plans application

You use the Job Plans application to manage job plans and improvement plans. A job plan is a detailed description of work that is done for a work order. An improvement plan is a type of job plan that contains information about estimated child improvements, improvement tasks, costs, and benefits.

Job plans generally contain tasks and information about the estimated labor, materials, labor hours, services, and tools that are essential for the work. To ensure that work on an asset is done safely, you can add work assets and associate safety plans to use when work is done. You can define a default safety plan to apply automatically whenever the job plan is applied to a work order for an asset. You also can create a job plan from a work plan that you use frequently.

You can apply job plans to preventive maintenance records, routes, and work orders. After a job plan becomes a work plan on a work order, you can change the work plan without affecting the job plan.

In the Job Plans application, you can do the following activities:
  • Identify area authorities, issuing authorities, and performing authorities.
  • Specify operating procedures at the task level.
  • Search for job plans by condition for work.
  • When you assign labor on a job plan, you can specify the essential qualification for the associated task. An Oil and Gas/HSE Manager shared option in the Organizations application is set to verify the labor qualification for tasks. If you accept the default, when a qualification is specified, only the labor records that match the essential qualifications display.
  • Generate risk assessment records.
  • Associate improvement plans with job plans.
  • Specify whether a job plan implements an assurance activity.
  • Specify the preparation activities for a job plan.
  • Add review actions and their associated review items to a job plan.
  • Document the potential impact on production for an outage that might be associated with a job plan. You can specify the loss quantity, and the loss reference. To reduce production losses that can result from maintenance shutdowns, you can link the job plan to a location profile.
  • To include different types of risk assessments for separate activities, you can now specify both primary and supplementary risk assessments.
  • Associate the following records with certain types of records with job plans:
    • Audit
    • Condition for work
    • Loss reference
    • Location profile
    • Operating policy
    • Permit and certificate type
    • Reason for work
    • Regulation
    • Risk assessment
