Configuring a default member for new user groups

If your environment includes IBM® Intelligent Operations Center interim fix PO08061 or later, as a system administrator you can configure whether a default member is added to user groups that are added in the User Management view.

About this task

To assign a user as a default member to each user group that is added in the User Management view, set the value of the LdapUserGroupDefaultUser system property to the LDAP distinguished name (DN) for that user. Alternatively, if you do not want a default member to be added to new user groups, ensure that the property's Value field is blank.

By default, the value of the LdapUserGroupDefaultUser system property is set to dummy, ou=dummy. If you do not change the value of the system property, the dummy user is added to your LDAP server but is not displayed in the User Management view.

Procedure

  1. From the Administration or Solution Administration navigation menu, click System Administration > System Properties.
  2. Select and configure the LdapUserGroupDefaultUser system property.
    • To assign a user as a default member to every user group that is added in the User Management view, enter the DN for the user in the Value field.
    • Or, ensure that the Value field is blank so that a default member is not added to new user groups.
  3. Click Save.
