Creating solution applications

Create a solution application that includes the Device Management Enablement supporting application. You can optionally include more supporting applications in your solution. A sample Device Management Enablement solution application named Sunshine is provided.

1. Log on as a member of the SystemAdmins group. For example, log on as sysadmin.
2. Click Solution Administration > Configuration Tools > Application Management.
3. Click Create.
4. In the ID field, enter a unique identifier for the solution application.
5. In the Name field, enter a name for the solution application.
6. Optional: In the Description field, enter a description of the solution application.
7. Click Save to create the application. A progress window opens, showing the elapsed time during processing. If the timeout limit is reached, an error message is displayed. When the solution application is created, the Create Solution Application status window displays a status log that shows a completion message.
   Note: The solution is created on the server. Because the processing takes place in the background, it executes independently of the request that is made in the Create Solution Application window. The server is queried repeatedly for the log file, which provides an update on the status of the process. When a marker is found in the log file that indicates that the process is complete, the following message is displayed: The solution application [ID] has been created successfully.
8. Click Close to close the information message. The Create Solution Application status window displays the log file data.
9. Click Close to close the Create Solution Application status window.
