Viewing detailed audit history

View a detailed audit history at the module, table, and record levels to track specific changes and compare field values.

About this task

The audit dashboard provides three levels of detail for viewing audit history. Finally, you can drill down from module-level changes to table-level changes, and to record-level changes that show field-by-field comparisons.

Procedure

  1. From the audit dashboard, locate the audit record that you want to investigate.
    Use the filtering and search capabilities to narrow down the list of audit records.
  2. To view module history, click View module history in the Action column.
    The Module History page displays, showing all tables that were modified within the selected module. The page includes filtering options for table name, date range, and user.
  3. Optional: To filter the module history results, enter filter criteria and click Apply.
  4. To view table history, click View table history in the Action column.
    The Table History page displays, showing all records that were modified in the selected table. Each row shows the record title, description, operation type, modification date, user, and an action link.
  5. Optional: To filter the table history results, enter filter criteria and click Apply.
  6. To view record history with field-level details, click View record history in the Action column.
    The Record History page displays, showing the record title, description, and a version timeline on the left side. The current version is marked as "Current" and historical versions are marked as "Historical".
  7. To view changes for a specific version, select a version from the timeline.
    The page displays the record details including the title, description, and modification information.
  8. Optional: To compare versions, toggle the Compare switch to enable comparison mode.
    Two comparison options appear: Previous version and Latest version.
  9. Optional: Select a comparison option:
    • Select Previous version to compare the selected version with its immediate predecessor.
    • Select Latest version to compare the selected version with the current version.
    The page displays a comparison table with three columns: Field name, Previous value, and Current value. Changed fields are displayed in the Changed fields section, while unchanged fields are collapsed under an Unchanged fields section that you can expand if needed.

Results

You can view a detailed audit history at multiple levels, from high-level module changes down to specific field-level modifications. The version comparison feature helps you identify exactly what changed and when.
