Editing Contracts in the Contract Editor Language tab

The contract language is displayed in the Contract Editor Language tab in HTML format.

Use the Clause toolbar and the right-click menu to edit the contract language.

Consider the following points when you view and edit the contract language in the Contract Editor Language tab.
  • You cannot edit the contract language to make any text or formatting changes. To edit the text, open the contract in the Word Editor.
  • Formatting changes to a clause are indicated by .
  • Tables and bullets in the clause language are displayed in the clause language.
  • Certain special characters that are used as bullets might not be rendered correctly in the contract language. However, there are no limitations in displaying these bullets in the contract Word document.
  • Pictures, Clip Art, Smart Art, Charts, Text Boxes, Word Art, and Signature Line features of Word are not displayed in the contract language. However, placeholders are displayed.
  • Page background color, cross-references, Shapes, and Objects features of Word are not displayed in the contract language.
  • Multi-column formatting is not applicable to the contract language view in the Contract Editor Language tab and is supported only in the Word Editor.
  • The appearance of Tab spaces in the clause language differs in the Word Editor and on the Contract Editor Language tab. Addition or removal of tab spaces results in redlines in the clause language. Actions like insert term and split clause are not available for tab spaces.
