Known issues
The following issues and limitations are known for IBM® Engineering Requirements Management DOORS® Next 7.2.0 release. Some issues have workarounds and other issues are limitations.
Workarounds
The following issues in this release have workarounds.
- REST API request fails for artifacts that are upgraded from 6.0.6.1 to 7.0.2 SR1
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT255190
Problem: REST API request fails for artifacts that are upgraded from 6.0.6.1 to 7.0.2SR1
Workaround: Add MD_ in front of Module URI for the REST request to work. For example,
https://<hostname>/rm/publish/views?moduleURI=MD_nN51sdfEei2ou_dx66hBQ& viewURI=VW_yTsiR5EeqDQ613sCxIyA&projectURI=_AOnAOGen2aY6YDhQ&oslc_config. context=https%3A%2F%2F<hostname>%2Fgc%2Fconfiguration%2F54 - Filter on enum 'attribute exists' shows artifacts with empty value in the result when deleted enum values remain assigned
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT393030
Problem: Artifacts that still have a deleted enum value assigned appear in the results when applying a filter on 'attribute exists' for the relevant enum attribute. These artifacts display an empty value, which may lead users to believe that the results are incorrect.
Workaround: Change the filter from 'AttributeX exists' to 'AttributeX is Any of' and select all values. Alternatively, saving the artifact removes any invalid enum references. To do this, modify any attribute, content, or description of the artifact and save it. This action clears the invalid attribute reference.
- Using copy/paste in a table inside an artifact creates a new table row in Chrome and Edge browsers
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT391140
Problem: When copying and pasting the entire content of a table cell within an artifact, instead of pasting into the selected cell, a new table row is created with the content in the first column.- If pasted into the first column, the new row is added above the selected row.
- If pasted into the second column, the new row is added below the selected row.
Workaround: Select only a subset of the cell content, for example, all characters except the last one, before copying. Paste this selection into the target cell, then manually type the last character. This prevents the creation of a new row.
- Db2: Link 'exists' and 'does not exists' filters in the Link Type feature are slow (or timeout) in modules
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT394913
Problem: Views using 'Link exists' or 'Link does not exist' filters in the Link Type feature might execute slowly and sometimes result in timeouts
Workaround: Simplify the view and/or increase the client timeout setting to allow the view to complete.
- The preview of the uploaded file does not display mathematical formulas
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: Internal
Problem: When you upload a Rich Text Format (RTF) document with embedded PPTX or DOCX to DOORS Next, the mouse-over preview of mathematical formula text is garbled. When you upload a DOCX or PPTX document that contains mathematical formula text directly to IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next, the mouse-over preview displays all text except for mathematical formulas.
Workaround: Enter the formula directly into the rich text document or IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next requirements.

- Link Exists view filters with extra filters on linked artifacts are slow or time out on Oracle
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT248189
Problem: When a view contains a Link Exists filter with additional filters for linked artifacts, processing the view might take a long time and can result in a timeout.
- Oracle: Module open/compare in baseline slows as artifact and binding states increase
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT255240
Problem: Loading module contents from baselines can be slow during configuration comparison. Performance degrades as the number of changes in modules increases.
- Filter on a string attribute with RDF URI causes empty module in changeset or when navigating back to the module
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT398241
Problem: When filtering on a string attribute using 'attribute contains' some text or a word, the initial result is correct. However, after creating a changeset or navigating to another page in the same tab and returning to the module, the module appears empty. The display becomes inconsistent, especially if the attribute is shown in the grid view.
- Some OLE objects in ReqIF packages from DOORS are not displayed when imported into IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Next
-
First occurrence: 7.0.3
ID: DT398504
Problem: ReqIF package includes several OLE objects, but some do not display correctly when imported into DOORS Next. The same .rtf files in the package fail to open in Microsoft Word but can be accessed in Word pad by selecting the Unblock and Show All Content. The same issue occurs when .rtf files are uploaded through the Upload Artifact option and viewed in module view. While the ReqIF package appears to be valid, the problem seems related to how the content is previewed in module view. The issue affects only some imported objects.
- ClassCastException thrown on delivering link whose type is changed in both source and target
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT399920
Problem:
ClassCastExceptionoccurs when delivering a link whose type has changed in both source and target: java.lang.ClassCastException: com.ibm.rdm.service.links.model.impl.Link is incompatible with com.ibm.rdm.service.artifacts.model.IArtifact
- Artifacts shown in Links Explorer that are cross-server cannot be expanded or linked
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: Internal
Problem: Artifacts from another DOORS Next server cannot be expanded to show their links, nor can links be created from them. For more information, see Link explorer.
- Db2: View timeouts with "Link does not exist" filters
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT248177
Problem: You might experience timeouts in the DOORS Next web client when filtering on tags in module and artifact grids.
- Audit history performance issues on large modules with lots of audit histories
-
First occurrence: 6.0.6
ID: DT005258
Problem: On large modules with extensive audit histories, initial load and subsequent page changes take a long time (up to 2.3 minutes per page). No caching appears to occur.
- View filter using server's hostname in RDF URI is lost after server rename
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT389198
Problem: If server URL is used in RDF URI for an attribute definition, and a condition on this attribute is defined for a view, the filter condition is lost after a server rename.
- Quick Search can show bindings that are not referenced by an existing module
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT378934
Problem: Bindings that are not referenced by any module still appear in Quick Search results. The Module attribute is blank, and clicking the binding link opens a We’re Sorry… cannot be found… page.
- When printing a module, a wrong link is generated for an embedded artifact that resides in a different project area
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT269966
Problem: When printing a module, the link for an embedded artifact in a different project area references the stream ID of the parent artifact instead of the stream ID of the embedded artifact.
- rm log contains ERROR m.ibm.rdm.fronting.server.services.RMBridgeService Service Error: Unable to resolve expected configuration
-
First occurrence: 7.0.2
ID: DT209329
Problem: The rm.log has several instances of this error:2021-07-08T18:32:50,307 [TID: 750DB9A9][rene.morrow] [WebContainer : 2 @@ 18:32 <unauthenticated> <Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/91.0.4472.124 Safari/537.36 Edg/91.0.864.64@9.42.75.198> /rm/operations] ERROR m.ibm.rdm.fronting.server.services.RMBridgeService - Service Error: Unable to resolve expected configuration
- Blank gaps in module due to improper handling of page requests
-
First occurrence: 6.0.6
ID: DT081868
Problem: Under certain scenarios, the module displays blank gaps.

-
First occurrence: 6.0.6
ID: DT447908
When exporting BIRT reports to Microsoft Excel, the downloaded file is of 0 KB size and contains no data.
