Getting started with your development project

Depending on your role and goals, you will have different tasks to do to get started with a project. This topic provides pointers to information on initial steps for you to take.

About this task

By default, IBM® Engineering Workflow Management supports the following roles:

• Server and repository administrators
• Project administrators
• Team leads
• Team members

The following diagram demonstrates an example workflow for a team using project in Engineering Workflow Management. The workflow described is only an example of how your team might set up and get started with a project. Although many of the steps can be done using either the web interface or the Eclipse client, the steps for project administrators and team leads link to topics that refer to the web interface and the steps for team members link to topics that refer to the Eclipse client.

• Get started with a role that closely matches your goals:

  Role	Description
  Project administrator	Your goals might include defining iterations and plans, defining team processes, creating teams, defining your source control setup, creating builds, and tracking status.
  Team lead	Your goals might include defining your team and team members, creating iteration plans, assigning work, delivering source code, setting up builds, and tracking progress with reports.
  Team member	Your goals might include getting connected with the project, managing your assigned work, and managing your code.
