Accessing context menu options in a view

IBM® Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Engineering Insights (ENI) enables view authors to switch a view among different perspectives and see the details of nodes.

You can use the context menu options to switch a view from artifacts details to see either the node count or percentage of the artifacts. You can use the context menu options from the view canvas and container. Based on the selected option from the context menu, the containers are loaded onto the view canvas.

Accessing context menu options from the view canvas

With this feature, you can see the artifacts, count of the node, and percentage of the artifacts for all the containers that are available onto the view canvas. It reduces your efforts of generating these details for individual container.

Procedure

  1. Open the view in the edit mode. The view is loaded with the containers.
  2. To display the count node for all the containers onto the view canvas, right-click the canvas, and then click Show count.

  3. To display the percentage of artifacts for all the containers onto the view canvas, right-click the canvas, and then click Show percent.

    Note:
    • If a condition is already added to the container, the Show percent option from the canvas uses that particular condition to render the percentage.
    • If no condition is applied for showing percentage on a container, then 100 % is displayed in the node.
  4. To restore the artifacts in all the containers, right-click the view canvas, and then click Show artifacts.

Example

The following example shows how you can use appropriate context menu option to see different node types for linked containers. In the following figure, you can see the linked containers in a view.

  • When you right-click onto the view canvas and click Show count, the node count for the linked containers is displayed.

  • When you right-click onto the view canvas and click Show percent, the percentage of the artifacts for the linked containers is displayed.

Accessing context menu options from the container

When you access context menu options by using container, you can see the artifacts, count of the node, and percentage of artifacts for the selected individual container.

Procedure

  1. Open the view in the edit mode. The view is loaded with the containers.
  2. Right-click the container, and then click Show count.
    The Show Count option is displayed from the container context menu.
    The node count is displayed for the selected container.

  3. Right-click the container and then click Show percent. To know how to define the condition for showing the percentage, see Showing percentage of artifacts.

Example

The following example shows how you can use appropriate context menu option to see different node types for linked containers. In the following figure, you can see the linked containers in a view.

  • When you right-click a particular container and click Show count, the node count for that container is displayed.

  • When you right-click a particular container, and click Show percent, the percentage of the artifacts for that container is displayed.
