Signing in to your account with SSO

With single sign-on (SSO), you can sign in to Watson™ Care Manager applications once with a single username and password in a session. This means that you don't have to sign in separately to each application.

About this task

If SSO is enabled for your organization by the default IBM® App ID service, you can SSO to your Watson Care Manager applications. When you sign in to Watson Care Manager and then open the URL for another Watson Care Manager application, for example, Watson Care Manager Reporting, you are automatically signed into the second application. You do not need to reenter your credentials.

If your access is verified by an identity provider external to IBM that supports SSO such as KeyCloak, you can also SSO to your Watson Care Manager applications. Note: In this particular setup, SSO between Watson Care Manager applications and the Connect applications is not supported.

Follow the procedure to sign in with SSO when an external identity provider verifies your access.

Procedure

  1. Choose an option.
    • Sign in to Watson Care Manager with SSO.
      1. Open the URL that is associated with your Watson Care Manager application. If you are already signed into your organization's identity provider, you are automatically signed in to Watson Care Manager.
      2. If you are not already signed in, you are redirected to the sign-in page for your organization's identity provider.
    • Sign in to Watson Care Manager Reporting with SSO.
      1. Open the URL that is associated with your Reporting application. The IBM Watson Health sign-in page opens. If you are already signed in to your organization's identity provider, click Login with identity provider. You are automatically signed in to the Reporting application.
      2. If you are not already signed in, ignore the prompt to enter your username and password. Click Login with identity provider. You are redirected to the sign-in page for your organization's identity provider.

Note: A Forgot password? link is displayed on the IBM Watson Health sign-in page. Ignore this link as it applies only when your access is managed by the IBM App ID service. Your identity provider verifies your credentials and manages the process for resetting your password not the IBM App ID service.

  2. Enter the username and password for your identity provider. Depending on the application that you are signing into, either your Watson Care Manager home page or your Watson Care Manager Reporting home page opens.
Note: When you sign in to Watson Care Manager for the first time with your identity provider, the IBM copyright notice is displayed. To dismiss the notice, you can manually close it at any time. The copyright notice is automatically displayed every 30 days.
