Columns of a message list

The columns of a message list depend on the purpose and type of the queue. The flag, message ID, domain, type, and local address are always shown. These columns identify the message and provide status information. The Description column, for example, appears only on template queues. The ISN, OSN, and Session ID are omitted on create queues, because there is no useful data. On retype queues, columns that would display default retype data are missing.

Table 1. Possible columns of a message list
Column Description
Flag
The icon in this column provides status information about the message:
Locked image
The message is locked by someone else. You can view the message, but you cannot work with it until the lock is released by the owner or broken by an administrator. The hover help for the icon tells which user locked the message.
Locked by self image
The message is locked by you. Other users can view the message, but they cannot work with it until you release the lock or an administrator breaks it.
Cannot open image
You are not allowed to open this message, or to perform actions such as Accept, Reject, or Submit on it. This icon is displayed on queues with purpose Authorize or Retype when you were the last user to work with that message. This icon indicates that a different user must carry out the next process step for the message. If you are an administrator, this icon indicates that you have only administrative rights for the message. This icon applies only to queues of type main or draft. Messages on queues of other types cannot be opened at all.
Note: A lock is automatically set when you select the action Open on a message, and released when you close the message by any action, including Quit. The lock prevents other users from modifying a message while you are working with it. The View action does not set a lock, but you cannot work with the message. If you log out or close the browser while a message is open, the lock remains. You can release it by selecting the Unlock action from the pop-up menu of the message.
Message ID Unique ID of a message within the MER Facility.
Message domain The message domain, for example DNIFIN. For more information, see Message standards, message definitions, and message domains.

In addition to the message types defined by SWIFT for a domain, the following values can be displayed:
Unpar.
The message is unparsable. The message type is DNIUNPARSABLE.
