Editing Bookshelf Information

This topic shows you how to use the Edit Bookshelf window to edit information on a bookshelf.

These functions assist in making bookshelves more useful to a user. For
example, when you receive a bookshelf that was created at another site or
on another operating system, you can change the bookshelf information to
   conform to your naming conventions.

You can edit information on one or more bookshelves on a bookshelf list.
To use the Edit Bookshelf window:

  1. Select Edit in the Perform File Functions window. For details, see "Using the Perform File Functions Window" in topic 2.3.1. The Edit Bookshelf window lists the bookshelf information that you can edit.

    • Bookshelf header, to change the description and search index data set name of a bookshelf. For example, when you add books to a bookshelf, you may want to change the bookshelf description to reflect the added books.

    • Book, to change the short title and data set name of each book on a bookshelf.

    • Change high-level qualifiers, to change the high-level qualifiers of a bookshelf's search index data set name and the data set name of each book on the bookshelf. For example, when you receive a bookshelf from another user, you can change the high-level qualifier of the bookshelf to match your own naming conventions.

    • Add data set names, to add the bookshelf's search index data set name and each book's data set name, if the data set names are blank.

After you edit the bookshelf information, press F12 to return to the Perform File Functions window.

Figure 97 is an example of a Edit Bookshelf window.
