You can back up all of the eligible changed data sets in one or
more storage groups by entering either of the following commands:
BACKVOL STORAGEGROUP(sgn,...,sgn)
BACKVOL STORAGEGROUP(sgn,...,sgn) INCREMENTAL
Processing for either of these commands is the same as explained
in Backing up all eligible changed data sets on one or more volumes, in which DFSMShsm determines each volume
involved from the definitions of the specified storage groups.
When you use the
STORAGEGROUP parameter,
DFSMShsm checks the AUTO BACKUP attribute of the management class
for each changed data set, and does the following:
- AUTO BACKUP=YES...
- DFSMShsm performs the remainder of eligibility processing for
the data set.
- AUTO BACKUP=NO...
- DFSMShsm does not process the data set.
