Configuring the system properties

If Maximo® Health is deployed as part of Maximo Manage, after deployment and activation are completed, you must configure two system properties. These properties are used to enable work orders and service requests that are submitted to be created in Maximo Health or Maximo Predict. As part of configuring the properties, you create an integration user and an API key in Maximo Health or Maximo Predict.

About this task

Configure the system properties after deployment and activation is completed. For example, if you deployed Maximo Health as part of Maximo Manage to support a Maximo Predict deployment, configure the system properties after all three applications are deployed and activated.

Procedure

  1. In Maximo Health or Maximo Predict, create an integration user. The integration user must be able to use REST APIs to access work orders and service requests in Maximo Health.
  2. Create the API key.
    1. In the navigation, search for API Keys.
    2. Click API Keys from the search result. This takes you to the API Keys application.
    3. Click Add API Key.
    4. In the User field, select the user ID for the integration user and click Add ensure that the value in the Token expiry in minutes field is -1. Click Create.
    5. Optional: On the API key card, click Copy key.
  3. Configure the system properties.
    1. In Maximo Health or Maximo Predict, from the navigation menu, select Application administration.
    2. In the System Properties application, in the Property Name field, search for mxe.eternaleam.
    3. Open the row for the mxe.externaleam.apikey system property and in the Current Value field, specify the Maximo Health or Maximo Predict, integration user's API key and then save the row.
    4. Open the row for the mxe.externaleam.url system property and in the Current Value field, specify the URL for Maximo Health or Maximo Predict, and then save the row.
    5. Select the check boxes for the mxe.externaleam properties and then in the Common Actions menu, click Live Refresh.
    6. On the Live Refresh dialog box, click OK.

What to do next

After the live refresh is completed, refresh your browser, and then test that the properties are refreshed by clicking the Edit source record action for an asset or location. If the properties are refreshed, the system that the source record is located in opens.

You do not need to load data into Maximo Health or Maximo Predict. If Maximo Health and Maximo Manage are deployed together, data is automatically shared. For more information on getting started, see Getting started for application administrators.
