Outbound UNB Envelope

The Outbound Envelope allows you to determine outbound parameters for the UNB (EDIFACT) option. The Outbound UNB Envelope dialog box is displayed.

Note: EDIFACT version 4 defines the infrastructure necessary to support the creation (and processing) of interchanges that have been encoded using a character set other than 8-bit ASCII. Microsoft Windows supports the processing of an encoded interchange as long as the encoding matches the default code page of the operating system where it is running.

The following describes the parts of the Outbound UNB Envelope.

Part Description
Syntax ID (UNB0101) Mandatory. Enter the Controlling Agency (for example, UNOA).
Syntax Version (UNB0102) Define the version number associated with the syntax identifier.
Note: If you type a version number earlier than version 4 in the Syntax Version box on the Outbound UHB Envelope dialog box, the system disables the version 4 fields in both the UNB and UNH dialogs and any data in those fields will not be saved when you exit the Outbound UNB Envelope dialog box.
Service List Directory Version (UNB0103) Enter the version number of the service code list directory.
Character Encoding (UNB104) Enter the coded identification of the character encoding used in the interchange.
Sender ID (UNB0201) Mandatory. Define your interchange ID as it will appear on the interchange header segment sent to this trading partner.
Sender ID Qualifier (UNB0202) Define your qualifier as it will appear on the interchange header segment sent to this Trading Partner.
Reverse Routing Address (UNB0203) Define your reverse route code as mutually agreed on with this trading partner.
Note: This is only displayed for EDIFACT versions earlier than version 4.
Sender Internal ID (UNB0203) Enter the sender internal identifier.
Note: This parameter is only displayed if you are using EDIFACT version 4. For version 4, this value allows 35 characters. For versions prior to 4, this value allows 14 characters.
Sender Internal Sub-ID (UNB0204) Enter the sender internal sub-identifier. Sub-level of sender internal identification, when further sub-level identification is required.
Note: This is only displayed for EDIFACT versions earlier than version 4.
Receiver ID (UNB0301) Mandatory. Define this trading partner's interchange ID.
Receiver ID Qualifier (UNB0302) Define your trading partner's qualifier as it will appear on the interchange header.
Receiver Routing Address (UNB0303) Identify your trading partner's receive route code, as mutually agreed upon.
Note: This is only displayed for EDIFACT versions earlier than version 4.
Recipient Internal ID (UNB0303) Enter the recipient internal identifier.
Note: This parameter is only displayed if you are using EDIFACT version 4. For version 4, this value allows 35 characters. For versions prior to 4, this value allows 14 characters.
Recipient Internal Sub-ID (UNB0304) Enter the recipient internal sub-identifier. Sub-level of recipient internal identification, when further sub-level identification is required.
Note: This is disabled for EDIFACT versions earlier than version 4.
Control Number (UNB05) Displays the beginning control sequence number for generating interchange envelopes. The system will assign control numbers sequentially, adding one to the number you specify here. If you specify a "0", the system will assign "1" as the beginning control sequence number.
Receiver Password (UNB0601) Define the password to the trading partner's system or third-party network.
Password Qualifier (UNB0602) Define the qualifier associated with your trading partner’s system or third-party network.
