Data logging and retention
This article describes retention duration for data in Aspera on Cloud.
General
- All personally identifiable information (PII) is deleted from the active backend databases no more than 60 days after the subscription ends.
- Database backups are deleted after 270 days.
Retention policy for data in the Admin app
Data in the Admin app Activity page (Admin > Organization > Activity) are retained as follows:
- Volume usage is retained indefinitely for the length of the subscription.
- The most recent three months of data are searchable in the web UI.
- The AoC API allows access to historical volume usage data.
- Package activity is retained indefinitely for the length of the subscription.
- Application events are retained for one year.
Retention policy for data in the Activity app
Data in the Activity app are retained for five years. See also Data retention.
Backend logging and audit data
Application logs are collected for debugging purposes and not exposed to end users. These data are retained for 366 days.
Stored file transaction attributes
The following attributes are stored according to the retention policies.
- Organization
- User workspace
- Data package name
- Sender user ID
- Receiver user ID
- File ID
- File name
- File size
- File transfer timestamp
- File transfer source IP address
- Server IP address
- Transfer size
- Transfer rate
