Scanning options wizard
Use the "Scanning options" wizard to assign scanner options to applications, containers, files, programs, or sites.
The "Scanning options" wizard has four
pages:
- COBOL scanning options
- PL/I scanning options
- Other scanning options
- Verify scanning options
- If the applicable asset is a single COBOL or PL/I program, then the wizard shows the applicable "COBOL scanning options" or "PL/I scanning options" page, but not both.
- If the asset is a single file of unknown language, then both the COBOL and PL/I pages are displayed.
- If the assets are applications, containers, or sites, then both the "COBOL scanning options" and "PL/I scanning options" pages are displayed.
- The "Other scanning options" page is displayed only if you choose either the Enterprise COBOL compiler or Enterprise PL/I compiler.
- If you choose only assets for which setting scanner options is not a valid action, then the wizard opens to the "Verify scanning options" page, and a message indicating that the assets are being ignored is displayed.
Tip: The list of scanning choices on each page of
the wizard changes according to the installation configuration options
set in the DMHINSTL option.
For more information about each page of the "Scanning options" wizard, see the related references. For more information on choosing scanning options, see the related tasks.
After you complete all the pages in the
wizard, the following events occur:
- The wizard updates the database tables to reflect the options that were selected for the applicable assets. Specifically, the DMH_CHAR_PROPERTY and DMH_NUM_PROPERTY tables are updated.
- Your browser refreshes the window from which the "Scanning options" wizard was opened.
