Model 51x, 710, and 9110-51A control panels

You might need to remove or replace the control panel in the server. This section includes procedures so that you can perform these tasks.

Attention: In these servers, the control panel is part of a device enclosure that also houses the media device. You should never attempt to remove the control panel itself from the system chassis. The control panel must be removed as part of the device enclosure.
Note: To gain access to all of the control panel's features, including the display, refer to Gain access to the model 51x, 710 control panels.

The following procedures describe the removal and replacement of the device enclosure for the rack-mounted version of the server.

Replacing this feature is a customer task. You can perform this task yourself, or contact a service provider to perform the task for you. You might be charged a fee by the service provider for this service.

If the IBM® Systems Hardware Information Center is available on a PC or a notebook that is close to the system on which you are installing or replacing parts, you can use the online version of these procedures.

If you are planning to use this information in printed form, be sure to print all of the information you need. You can find all of the information, in both HTML or PDF format, in the Installing features topic. Go to the listed procedures, print them, and then return here.
