Pinned topic Table of Figures/Tables in particular Format

‏2013-11-20T09:26:28Z |

Hi,

Need help in modifying the RPE template.

I would like to have the table of figures/tables based on each chapter/section number.

Example:

Figure 1-1 xxxxxxxxx

Figure 1-2 xxxxxxxxx

Figure 2-1 xxxxxxxxx

Figure 2-2 xxxxxxxxx

Figure 2-3 xxxxxxxxx

---------------

Figure 2-3 represents 3rd figure under chapter/section 2.

Regards,

Naveen

    Hey,

    - open the Word output generated by RPE

    - modify the TOT manually in Word to get the desired behavior ( add the section flag to the TOC)

    - toggle the field code for the TOT so you can see it

    - copy the TOT field code and put it in the RPE template in the TOT field's "toc code" property ( formatting/specific/toc code). The default value is:  " \h \z \c "Table"

    Regards,

       Dragos

    Thanks for your response Dragos.

first i modified hte TOT manually in word output to get the desired behaviour.

    Then i replaced the default toc code (" \h \z \c "Table") with the modified field code ({ STYLEREF 1 \s }-{ SEQ Figure \* ARABIC \s 1 }).

but somehow the TOT & TOF are not generated.

plesae see the results in the attached screenshot.

    Naveen

    Hey Naveen,

you have used the code for a TOC entry not the TOC itself. And actually you need to change the field code of the caption itself, not the field code of the TOT. See the attached Word document as well as a simple RPE template which produces the same output ( you need to run it using the RPE.dot stylesheet so that the headings are numbered). If you use RPE 1.2.1 you can enabled "update fields" for the Word output to have the document generated with the TOT updated otherwise you need to manually update the fields.
