Pinned topic How does error tolerance work within the batchrecord processor

‏2013-03-21T04:42:58Z |
So I have implemented error tolerant step but my job is still failing at the first error it encounters within the batchrecordprocessor

Within the batchrecordprocessor i have an external webservices being invoked and that may occasionally fail based on the request but I do not want the whole batch job to quit because of that.
How do I handle such a scenario. I tried catching the error and returning "null" for the processRecord(Object record) method thinking that would be the equivalent of a null record but it is not the case

What counts as a tolerable error ? Does it apply to any errors encountered within the batchrecordprocessor

Please help and thanks in advance

Working as implemented .I needed to restart server after implementing batch record processor to return null so the error stream is invoked and processing continues
