Pinned topic How to send emaiil using xsl

‏2012-11-07T03:21:03Z |
Hi All,

How we can send email using xsl in DP.I heard that we can send email using xsl but i'm not sure, please correct me if I'm wrong.
If we can, please post me sample xsl code.
Other than xsl is there any way to fire email.

Please consider that we need to send some data as part of subject.

Regrads.
Srini

I think Devika wanted to point to the last posting of the thread (on SMTP url-open):
    http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/forums/thread.jspa?threadID=368861#14849597

This posting shows what you can do, if you need more SMTP features (like sending attachments):
    https://www.ibm.com/developerworks/mydeveloperworks/blogs/HermannSW/entry/smtp2

What you cannot have is multiple recipients since a <dp:url-open ...> is s single connection.
You can use email-group definitions to handle that case, though.

Thanks for reply, I will implement same by considering single recipient.

    Hi,
I'm using XI50 box, Trying to fire mail but I suspect mail server is expecting authentication mechanism (Its throwing SMTP response as 'full message is: 554 5.7.1 <Test@gmail.com>: Relay access denied')
How can we provide in URL open call.

with out authentic info URL looks like
    smtp://XXX.com/?Recpt=test%40gmail.com&Sender=srinivasa.p%40XXX.com&Subject=Test+From+DP+box&Domain=XXX.com&MIME=true'

Here exchange server name and domain names are masked with XXX.

Please help me to solve this issue

    Thanks in advance

'Relay access denied' usually means your SMTP server (XXX.com) is not configured to forward emails outside its domain, such as Test@gmail.com.

If you point a regular SMTP client, such as Outlook, at XXX.com, can you send an email to your Test@gmail account? I suspect you'll get a similar error.

    Srini,
You might try the documentation, there's a scheme for doing this, though it says it's for the XB only. I don't know if it's supported on the XI...
