We have jsf 1.1, and webpshere 6.1 where everything works. Time to upgrade to websphere 7.
After facing ton of issues like conflicts in JSF shipped version of websphere 7, and web-inf/lib jsf-api.jar, jsf-impl.jar etc, I was able to resolve all by either upgrading the facets to JSF 1.2, JSTL 1.1, Dynamic Webmodule 2.5 or simply by replacing/deleting the libraries in the web-inf/lib folder.
We use the extended IBM JSF component libraries. Finally I upgraded the JWL jars (jsf-ibm.jar etc) as well.
Now I can load the page successfully, but the hx:commandExButton will not take any action. It's a simple login page where it takes you to another page. Nothing happens. I tried to put a break point into the first line of action method, it will not even go there. Page seems to refresh.
I turned on all debug/trace of JSF, IBM JSF and no errors there in systemout file.
Any help or suggestions will help.
I have 2 versions of project
1) The project as it was in JSF 1.1, simply replacing the libraries. Same issue.
2) Dynamic Web 2.5, JSF 1.2, JSTL 1.1 upgrade project where I have faces-config.xml with the xsd instead of dtd. Same issue.
I have attached the word file with screen shot of my web-inf/lib folder, and the main login page. Pl help.

JSF 1.1 project migrating to websphere 7 commandExButton does not work.2012-07-09T13:12:07Z in response to Y800_H_PI realized, that even if I put a simple hello world kind of jsf page with a bean, the JSF acts same way. Meaning it's not just the CommandExButton, with this project even a simple jsf page (core sun), will not take any action. I am lost.

Re: JSF 1.1 project migrating to websphere 7 commandExButton does not work.2013-03-01T14:26:50Z in response to SystemAdminIt's been a while so forgetting. But there are couple of ways:
Go to main project, right click --> properties --> Project Facets in IBM RAD. You should be able to upgrade it here.
Or Start a new shell project with needs and import/add source from old one.
Hope this helps.
