Re: ITM situation fullname - blank2012-06-07T07:00:02Z in response to SystemAdminHi plalwa, due to the fact that you are wondering since a while about sitnames we should maybe start in history.
At the beginning of ITM 6.1 the database field "situation name" was defind to 32 bit. Due to some internal mechanism only 31 characters have been available for users to specify a Name for the Situation.
You can see this field as "Situation Name" if you export your situation.
There are some rules in place about the naming (e.g. no blanks,...)
This field is used in multiple TEMS tables!
To increase the situation names we introduced once a mapping table (TNAME) which maps the FullName (if required!) to the Situationname.(it's only requiered if e.g name becomes longer than 31char, Blanks include into the name, renaming of an existing situation,...., otherwise Fullname keeps BLANK)
This leads to the fact that ITM is using internally still only the Sitname, but for users the Fullname is displayed in the GUI.
Hence if there is no Fullname (e.g. blank), don't worry cause it just means Sitname is shorter than 31 characters, hence no Fullname is requiered.
Depending on the way how you created the situation (e.g exportsit -> importsit: doesn't touch Sitname and Fullname at all, but bulkexport/bulkimport sets Fullname=Sitname, if Fullname is blank) different scenarios can be seen.
But believe me since ITM 6.22 FP4 this mechanism is really reliable.
If you still have doubts, just query TNAME (in this table ID contains the STITNAME and FULLNAME contains FULLNAME).
Hoping that now all your questions about Sitnames are answered.
