Pinned topic ServiceIP handling

Hello,
which method SAMP uses to assign a ServiceIP to an interface? It seems that "ifconfig" is used. Our Linux poeple told us, that ifconfig would be replaced by "ip" Command and ifconfig would be retired. Could you confirm this?
Regards

    Hello Rüdiger,

SAMP works regardless of "iconfig" and "ip". It uses Linux ioctl system calls to set or remove IP addresses. We are not dependent on other binary utilities. In the end "ifconfig" and "ip" use the same system calls. Those system calls are not going to be removed from Linux since they are an integral part of the Linux Operating System.
