    Marcel,

Have a look at a new product CobolPro for z/OS (COBOL Run-Time Statement-Level Code Coverage) at www.e-jcl.com.

There is a historical IBM Systems Journal paper from 1983 (Vol 22, Issue 3) titled "Design and use of a program execution analyzer" that discusses various technical approaches and pros/cons to code coverage for various languages. This paper has a good technical overview that is still applicable today.

See http://ieeexplore.ieee.org/xpl/tocresult.jsp?isnumber=5387821. (Note: The online IBM Systems Journals are no longer free).

Some tools perform the code instrumentation mechanism at the source code level (CobolPro) while others may do it at the object code level or run-time level. For COBOL especially, instrumentation at the source code level may mitigate against impacts that could occur if the hardward or software vendor made non-trivial changes to object code structures, etc. in new compiler releases.

RDz 8.0.3 now provides a code coverage tool using IBM Debug Tool as a backend engine. Try it out --> http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rdzjava/index.html?S_CMP=rnav

    Hi,

Look at Macro4 "Fault Analysis" products : http://macro4.com/solutions/Application-Availability/Fault-Analysis.aspx

For code coverage in batch : TraceMaster
For code coverage under CICS : TraceMaster CodeTrack

    I've used this http://www.cue-metamon.com/
Works for assembler, cobol, batch, cics.

Is there anything for RDp or iSeries COBOL Coverage?

RDz and RDp share technology. So we would like to bring the code coverage technology into RDp. AIX is likely to get the technology before iSeries does. So at this point there is no code coverage for iSeries COBOL. To help us prioritize, please open an RFE for it at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/rfe/

I know this bit old the last comment here is  that

'So at this point there is no code coverage for iSeries COBOL'

Is this still the true ?

RDi 9.1 and up supports code coverage for compiled languages on IBM i including :-) COBOL.
