Pinned topic SVC BG_Copy_Priority Value
On the SVC FlashCopy you can adjust the copyrate of a FC mapping. In the documents you can find the MB/sec that will be copied at a certain value.
Are these the same for the bg_copy_rate in a global mirror relationship?

The SVC Global Mirror partnerships use 'bandwidth' rather than background copy. This is specified in MB/s, so there is no need for the table as for the flashcopy information.
The bandwidth parameter can be found in the svcinfo lscluster <remote cluster name> view.

Can someone please explain what this value is for..? When I look at my replication relationships I see it listed and they are all at the default 50.. but Im not able to find any documentation that explains it.

Have a look at Redbook SG24-7574-02 : IBM System Storage SAN Volume Controller and Storwize V7000 Replication Family Services. There is a chapter (3.8) about (and explaining) the tunable parameters..

The bg_copy_priority value doesn't actually do anything and there is currently no method for adjusting it.
The attribute was intended to be used to allow the user to configure the background copy of some relationships as being higher/lower priority than others, however the feature hasn't been implemented.
