This is the consolidated report of my verboseGC.log file:

Number of all Garbage Collections : 492
Number of Global Garbage Collections : 0

Elapsed time between start and end time : 382,625 seconds

Total Garbage Collection duration : 22 seconds (0.0057706631819666775% of elapsed time between start and end time)
Average Garbage Collection duration : 44 milliseconds
Total Scavenger Garbage Collection duration : 22 seconds
Average Scavenger Garbage Collection duration : 44 milliseconds

Total Garbage Collection interval : 382,618 seconds
Average Garbage Collection interval : 777,679 milliseconds
Total Scavenger Garbage Collection interval : 382,618 seconds
Average Scavenger Garbage Collection interval : 777,679 milliseconds

Total collected bytes by Garbage Collection : 104,945,727,560 bytes
Average collected bytes by Garbage Collection : 213,304,324 bytes
Total collected bytes by Scavenger Garbage Collection : 104,945,727,560 bytes
Average collected bytes by Scavenger Garbage Collection : 213,304,324 bytes
I am worried about the Global GC count, which is 0 (and scavenger just 492) in the time span of 382,625 seconds (>4 days)
What can be the reason for no gc calls by JVM

As a result, my tenured area is not getting freed at all and the memory leakage is occurring in application.
Config:IBM Java5.0 on AIX
Xmx 1524m
Xms 1024m
GC Policy: gencon
