Technical blogging in 2015

In the last two years I've been fortunate to do a lot of work in emerging technology, specifically work in the area of Cloud and Cloud computing. I've had the chance to work on upfront discussions and design with clients, and well as help clients deliver on the Cloud. It's been an enjoyable experience so far, and I expect it to become only more intense based on the rapid pace that my clients are taking on as they look to take advantage of it.
The cloud discussions have been wide ranging, rather than focused. They've covered PaaS, IaaS, some SaaS. I've been talking to clients about IBM's SoftLayer and Bluemix services. And I have been working with them on how best to design and deploy systems in the cloud in a way that leverages the advantages of cloud and minimizes the risk during the adoption process.
I've also had the chance to talk to clients about DevOps, which is something many of them are keenly interested in. You can adopt DevOps practices without cloud. However, cloud enables clients to adopt DevOps practices easier and quicker, in my experience. The two, DevOps and Cloud, work well together, and when I have worked with clients, it's been beneficial to them to show see this.
That's a roundabout way of saying that with a new year, I hope to share on this blog some of the things I've learned and some of the resources that I've gathered here in this blog over the next year.
It's fair to say that technical blogging is challenging. Often times I am working on client projects and sharing any information at the same time is inadvisable. However there is a lot happening with Cloud computing and other emerging technology, and a lot of that is generally known about. If it is generally known, or material that can be generally shared, I am going to use this space to comment on it.
I will use this space to comment on other things as well. It should be good!
Thanks for your time!
