Are you creating Dashboards using JAZZ SM UI service and you need to display your custom content on a dashboard? Content Box is for you to look at.
Based on feedback at Pulse 2013 , Dashboard Application Services Hub (DASH) n ow has a new feature that provides an extendible model supporting inclusion of any url addressable custom content as widgets in DASH and the same can be added to the custom dashboards.
The custom content can be written in any web based technology... [More]
One of the promises of Linked Data is that it's open : your data can participate on an equal footing with what others expose. Doing that requires either buying or writing code (sorry - no free lunch). A number of our products now expose linked data, especially where we know there is a need to integrate with other products and other parts of the ecosystem, and more are coming (just look at the open betas). Business partners and clients can play as well; half of our Pulse 2013 integration center spots were partners. ... [More]
One of the guiding principles of OSLC is that everything is scenario driven . OSLC workgroups focus on satisfying real-world interoperability
scenarios and use these to agree of what is to be defined in an OSLC specification .
IBM teams follow the same principle when trying to define integration between products. A scenario allows us to define the who, what, why and how of an integration and to do it in a way that allows for disparate groups to focus on the task at hand.
We're publishing on the... [More]
I wanted to share my early experiences with Jazz for Service Management. I am part of Network Solutions (Netsol), an IBM company, which is leading provider of IT Infrastructure Services. Netsol's proven service delivery model and mature ITIL- based processes support scalable and flexible solutions. Broadly classified, Netsol's services include IT Managed Services and Network Services.
Customers seek real time information about how their infrastructure is performing. Some of the key performance indicators like CPU usage, memory etc... [More]

Being able to control status icons in a DASH widget is a very useful feature when creating a dashboard. In this post I'll show how you can use TDI to populate a DASH List Widget with status values from a .csv file.
Step 1. Create a d ata f ile
I have a .csv file that looks like this:
The final column represents a status value... [More]

As I forecast roughly a month ago , the Linked Data Platform specification published its "Last Call" working draft while I was on walkabout (July 30).
Assuming things go as planned, once this specification becomes a W3C Recommendation (i.e. a standard in the colloquial sense), it will be the basis for the next generation of linked data APIs from the OSLC (and OASIS) implementers. Hence it's worth a close look by anyone involved in those areas, whether as a provider, consumer, or... [More]
Did you just hit a scenario where the thresholding options are not available while configuring your Status Gauge?
Status Gauge has a special affinity towards a value which is of type ‘Status’. If you see the description of the mandatory parameter it says “Numeric Value/ Status expected”.
Status object is a little enhanced version of a numeric value provided by the data provider. Providing a Status object is optional for a data provider, so not all providers or... [More]

This blog will help to identify when to use Refresh Timer and Browser reload widgets while building dashboards.
Refresh Timer widget is used along with other dashboard widgets on a dash page if a user wants to refresh the widget's (gauges, table, list...) data at regular time interval.
The Refresh Widget is useful when data providers do not provide dynamic refreshes. The Refresh widget should not be used when a data provider is providing dynamic updates. The Refresh Widget does not reload the... [More]
xLaunch enables the capability to launch a DASH page from an external application. This capability allows IBM Products or any external application to launch a DASH Page which consists of different Dashboarding widgets. It involves sending a request URL along with a page identifier from an external application. Parameters can be optionally passed to transfer the context to the launching page.
URL Framing for xLaunch :
< host name >: < port number > /ibm/action/launch/ < page id >?< optional params >
Page Launch is used for drill down scenarios internally in DASH. Using page launch you can launch a page and pass the context to that page by selecting the Dashboarding widget. This can be configured through Quick Edit of the widget.
In Quick Edit, there is an option called “ Page to Launch ” where the available pages in DASH will be listed in a combo box. You can select any page and that page will be launched and the context will be passed to the page on click of the Dashboarding widget.
OSLC Resource Shapes
Resource Shape is a concept defined in the OSLC Core specification that is used to represent metadata about a resource type. It describes the properties that are allowed or required in a resource, their value types, and cardinality. Clients can use Resource Shape definitions to determine how to construct and to query for records of the corresponding resource type. For example, let's imagine that we want to define a Resource Shape for ATM (automatic teller machine) resources with the following properties:
