New Information Management releases DB2
New DB2 objects (global variables or SYSVARIABLES) and security controls are collected and reported on, as well as new IMS exits. Furthermore, new selection capabilities in zSecure Collect allow you to be specific as to the DB2 objects that you want to collect.
Mainframes continue to be the home for mission critical information and essential business production applications in many organizations due to the strong heritage of integrated security support capabilities across hardware, operating system, software and applications. IBM Security zSecure suite builds on the security support in z/OS and Resource Access Control Facility to enhance mainframe security capabilities.
zSecure Collect automatically detects DB2 and IMS subsystems and extracts information from them into a system snapshot file (CKFREEZE). Reports based on this information are available in the RE (resources) menu of the ISPF UI under RE.D (DB2) and RE.M (IMS). Various object types are supported. zSecure 2.1 has extensive analysis capabilities to help you work with DB2 Access Control Lists.
The following updates are provided:
These features apply to zSecure Audit. The region report is also available in zSecure Admin. It is furthermore possible to base alerts on this new information in zSecure Alert.
Documentation updates have been provided in a technote.
To benefit from these enhancements the following is required:
* IBM Security zSecure Admin and/or Audit 2.1, or one of the zSecure Compliance, Auditing, and Administration solutions
* PTF UA71287 for APAR OA43645
Because this service stream enhancement provides a new menu option, an upgrade of the National Language Support tables is included. This upgrade will occur automatically on first use of the enhanced product.
