What is the European Banking Authority?

The European Banking Authority (EBA) was formed to establish consistent, efficient and effective supervisory practices across the European Union, and to ensure uniform application of EU law throughout its member states. In 2019, the EBA issued guidelines on outsourcing which set out recommended terms that should exist between a financial institution and its outsourcer—including requirements regarding security, access, and contract termination.
