IBM Cloud Load Balancer as a Service with Layer-7 capability enables you to distribute data traffic using policies and rules.

IBM Cloud Load Balancer as a Service (LBaaS) using Layer-7 application layer data is now generally available. It enables you to distribute traffic among multiple server instances, including bare metal and virtual server instances, using Layer-7 (application layer) data. The new features include:

  • The data traffic to be distributed is classified using policies and rules.
  • Policies define what action to take when the data traffic matches all the rules associated with a policy.
  • Layer-7 (L7) load balancing supports HTTP and HTTPS traffic.
