Hybrid MDM configuration

The configuration elements shown here assume that your hybrid MDM implementation uses the mdmper and mdmorg entity types. If you rename the entity types, you must add corresponding configuration elements.

/IBM/Hybrid/enabled

Most of the hybrid MDM configuration elements are dynamic. Because they are dynamic, for a particular InfoSphere® MDM instance, you can change a value without needing to restart the server. See the details for each element.

• Description – Indicates that the InfoSphere MDM installation is a hybrid MDM implementation. By default, the value is set to false. Running the post-installation script for hybrid MDM, sets the value to true.
• Default value – false

Until hybrid MDM mode is enabled, the Hybrid MDM API transactions (persistEntity and getPartyByEntityId) are not available.

Enabling hybrid MDM mode restricts which transactions can be invoked by physical MDM. That is, you may not add or update information that is source-owned, or defined in the virtual MDM model. The physical MDM APIs for these attributes are not available. For more detail, see Accounting for supplemental attributes.

/IBM/Hybrid/PersistEntity/contextPoolSize

• Description – Specifies the default value for the operational server's context pool size. The context pool size is the number of virtual MDM 'threads' that are started concurrently. Each context pool has its own connection to the database and can operate independently of the others.
• Default value – 5

/IBM/Hybrid/PersistEntity/deletionMode

• Description – Specifies the default when an existing party is deleted using persistEntity. The default value of 1 indicates that when a party is deleted, its history is preserved. A value of 2 indicates that when a party is deleted, its history is deleted as well.

• Description – Specifies the name of hybrid MDM composite view as configured in the virtual MDM data model defined by the party.imm file.

• Description – Specifies the name of hybrid MDM composite view as configured in the virtual MDM data model defined by the party.imm file.

/IBM/Hybrid/PersistEntity/mdmorg/defaultPersistenceMode

• Description – Specifies which of two ways that the physical MDM persists the virtual MDM entity. A setting of 1 means the service persists only the virtual MDM entity ID (along with the source member IDs associated with the entity). That mode is called entity registration mode. A setting of 2 means that the service persists the complete composite view of the entity, as well as the member IDs associated with the entity. That mode is called full persistence mode.

• Description – Specifies which of two ways that the physical MDM persists the virtual MDM entity. • Description – Specifies the default member status filter for the entity type. The member status filter controls which member records can have their attribute values modified: (A)ctive, (M)erged, (O)verlay, (D)eleted, or (F)ictitious. For example, if Active and Merged are selected for the Home Phone Number attribute, then member records with a status of Active and Merged can have their Home Phone Number attribute values modified.

• Description – Specifies the default member status filter for the entity type. The member status filter controls which member records can have their attribute values modified: (A)ctive, (M)erged, (O)verlay, (D)eleted, or (F)ictitious. For example, if Active and Merged are selected for the Home Phone Number attribute, then member records with a status of Active and Merged can have their Home Phone Number attribute values modified.

• Description – Specifies the default record status filter for the entity type. The record status filter defines whether only active (A) or both active and inactive (AI) data elements are returned. Only those records with the designated status are returned.
